 Your Dollar Your World

2008 Conference Kit

 

On February 5, 2008, Connecticut State Treasurer Denise L. Nappier, in collaboration with The Center for Economic Education, University of Connecticut and the Bank of America held a personal finance and economics conference for high school students, “Your Dollar, Your World” at the University of Connecticut, Storrs.

 

This conference was designed to teach students about how the issues of climate change, human rights, and workplace protections affect businesses in a global economy and in turn, how students’ personal financial decisions to spend, save and invest can influence how businesses respond to these issues.

 

In total 475 students from 21 Connecticut high schools (list of participating schools )participated in the conference.

The Conference Kit

This conference kit is designed so that public officials, students and educators can replicate “Your Dollar, Your World” in your state or school The kit follows the Agenda of the conference and includes video of the morning session (watch here) and related research on each of the three issues
