FREEDOM OF INFORMATION COMMISSION
OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT

FINAL DECISION
Docket #FIC 1996-490
September 10, 1997

In the Matter of a Complaint by ETHAN BOOK, JR., Complainant
against
DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL SERVICES, ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIVISION,
STATE OF CT, JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT, Respondent

The above-captioned matter was scheduled to be heard as a contested case on April 25 and July 11, 1997, at which times the complainant and the respondent appeared in order to present testimony and argument on the complaint.

Following an informal conference during the April 25, 1997 hearing, the complainant and the respondent reached the general terms of an agreement to settle this contested case. At the July 11, 1997 hearing, based upon the implementation of the settlement agreement, the complainant informed the Commission that he wished to withdraw his complaint.

The Commission warmly commends both the complainant and the respondent for working successfully to negotiate a non-litigated settlement of their earlier differences.

The following order by the Commission is hereby recommended on the basis of the record concerning the above-captioned complaint:

1. The complaint is hereby dismissed.

Approved by Order of the Freedom of Information Commission at its regular meeting of September 10, 1997.
